High school roundup: Perryville volleyball team claims conference win vs. De Soto

Alex Spears pounded 10 kills and had four digs as the Perryville volleyball team picked up its first conference victory of the season, a 25-19, 25-22 triumph over host De Soto on Thursday.

Daria Thompson had three kills and two digs for Perryville (7-2), while Brooke Moll added 10 assists and two aces.

De Soto fell to 3-7-2.

JV -- Perryville won 25-17, 25-22

Jasmine Scott notched 10 digs to pace the Tigers defensively as Central won its second game of the season.

Kassidy Pannier dished out eight assists and Sarah Boerboom served five aces for Central (2-8).

Bloomfield fell to 2-3.

Woodland 25 25 Zalma 10 9

Delaney Vawter nailed four kills as the Cardinals rolled to a road victory.

Whitney Lincoln and Kelsey Long tallied three kills apiece for Woodland (6-4-1), while Krysta Rhodes added three kills, three aces and four digs. Chelsea Cureton also had four digs for the Cardinals. Vanessa Wiseman and Madison Covert dished out seven assists apiece.

JV -- Woodland won 25-3, 25-10

St. Vincent 25 25 Jefferson 23 16

Katie Verseman slammed seven kills to help lead the Indians in the conference victory at home.

Kassidy Kassel recorded five kills and Gabby Schemel added four kills for St. Vincent (6-4). Kellie L'Hote tallied 12 assists for the Indians, who improved to 2-0 in the JCAA Conference Small Schools Division with the win.

Jefferson fell to 4-6-1.

The green-and-gold Eagles (4-2) swept the host blue-and-gold Eagles (0-3) in the two-set conference match in Oran.

Josh Scholl scored two goals to lead the Indians (3-2) to a road victory over the Terriers.
