Ralph E. Fehr, 82, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 26, 1932, in St. Charles County, Missouri, to Amore and Caroline Wehmeier Fehr. He and Mary A. Middeke were married Sept. 29, 1951. They had been married 51 years when Mary passed away Jan. 2, 2003. ...

Ralph E. Fehr, 82, of Jackson passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Feb. 26, 1932, in St. Charles County, Missouri, to Amore and Caroline Wehmeier Fehr. He and Mary A. Middeke were married Sept. 29, 1951. They had been married 51 years when Mary passed away Jan. 2, 2003. 

Ralph honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then worked 41 years for West Lake Quary, retiring as a supervisor. After retirement, he worked full time, eight years for Luhr Bros., and 12 years as a part-time truck driver.

He was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson for over 50 years; and was a member of Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158 in Jackson. He was an avid fan of all Jackson Indian sports and attended games until his health began to decline.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Debora Lintner and Connie Werner of Jackson and Peggy (Kent) Proffer of Wildwood, Missouri; six grandchildren, Dustin (Karen) Mayfield-Jones, Whitney (Adam) Embick, Kylie and Tanner Werner, and Baleigh and Mallory Proffer; a great-grandson, Mason Embick; and three sisters, Loretta Buescher, Ruby Grimm and Joy Schmeimeier.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Orville and Vernon Fehr; and a son-in-law, Gerald Lintner.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.    

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Mindy Kiepe officiating.    

Entombment will be at Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates memorials to the Jackson Senior Center or Emanuel United Church of Christ. Memorials may be mailed to McCombs Funeral Home, 640 W. Independence St., Jackson, MO 63755.
