Betty Jackson

Betty L. Jackson, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at Miner Nursing Center in Miner, Missouri.

She was born Nov. 19, 1930, in Cape Girardeau to Burette and Flora Whittaker Davis.

She and Billy Frederick Jackson were married June 26, 1948, at Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death Jan. 14, 2001.

Betty was a 1948 graduate of Central High School. She was a member of Cape First where she was very active.

Survivors include sons Mitchell L. (Cindy) Jackson of Sikeston, Missouri, and Michael (Jill) Jackson of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren Sarah (Kevin) Overcash, Luke Jackson, Joshua (Cailey) Jackson, Samantha Welker, Mark (Callie) Welker, Garrett Jackson and Hannah Jackson; and great-grandchildren Jackson Overcash and Gracie Overcash.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Harold Davis.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
