I would like to say thank you to the lady who bought lunch for my granddaughter, husband and I at Olive Garden yesterday. We will always remember it as a very special act of kindness that touched us deeply. Thank you again. Good Samaritan Monday about 4:30 at the intersection of Siemers Drive and Bloomfield Road, a lady was making a left turn and her car just stalled. Then about five young people left their cars to help her to get her car out of traffic. To me that's a Good Samaritan...
Generous, thankful
I would like to say thank you to the lady who bought lunch for my granddaughter, husband and I at Olive Garden yesterday. We will always remember it as a very special act of kindness that touched us deeply. Thank you again.
Good Samaritan
Monday about 4:30 at the intersection of Siemers Drive and Bloomfield Road, a lady was making a left turn and her car just stalled. Then about five young people left their cars to help her to get her car out of traffic. To me that's a Good Samaritan.
Test teaching
Amendment 3 will lead to more standardized testing. Students already take too many of these tests. These high stakes testing forces teachers to "teach to the test" rather than focusing on actual instruction and learning. We need to make certain that our students are learning the material and are good critical thinkers, not just good test takers. Amendment 3 is bad for our children, it is bad for our teachers, and it is bad for Missouri. Amendment 3 has no social redeeming values.

Education mandate
Amendment 3's top-down mandate will shift local control of our schools away from parents, teachers and school districts while implementing unfunded, statewide, standardized testing. It will place control of our schools in the hands of Jefferson City politically appointed bureaucrats. The standardized tests will force local school districts to spend money that could be put to better use in the classroom.
Sports complex
I can't believe that some ignorant bunch is proposing a continuation of taxes for a new sports complex. How stupid can you be? It will not pay for itself, and the common taxpayers will be left to pay the bill. Until the city water treatment plant is paid for and the bills are reduced, a "no" vote is what you'll get from me.
Energy boon
Wow! We are currently experiencing an energy boom almost unprecedented in U.S. history.
