Freshman Brogan Davis clinched first place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54 seconds as the Central Tigers boys swimming team finished sixth in Saturday's 19-team Springfield Invitational.

The freshman standout also took fifth place in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 50.40 seconds for Central. Fellow freshman Sam Hahs took fourth in the 100 breaststroke and sixth in the 500 freestyle to help lead the Tigers, who finished eight points behind David H. Hickman of Columbia, Missouri, and three points ahead of Webb City for the sixth-place slot.

Splashing Out Cancer Meet

Jackson's Joey Janisse took third place in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke to help lead the Indians to an eighth-place finish at Lindbergh High School in the suburban St. Louis area.

Jack Gard placed fourth in the 500 freestyle and took sixth in the 200 freestyle for Jackson, which finished four points behind St. John Vianney in the team standings.

Notre Dame's Lucas Hurley finished 11th in the 100 breaststroke to pace the Bulldogs, who placed 10th overall.

Benjamin Parsons scored one goal and had one assist to lead the Bulldogs to victory over the Broncos on the road in the suburban St. Louis area.

Noah Huff and Wynn Roberds each had a goal while Huff and Blake Bauwens had an assist apiece for Notre Dame (17-3-2).

Northwest (Cedar Hill) 11, Central 1

The Lions picked up a big road win over the Tigers.

Northwest improved to 19-7 while Central fell to 4-17.

CROSS COUNTRY

Farmington Invitational

The Notre Dame cross country teams swept both divisions at the 19-team invitational at Engler Park.

Bulldogs sophomore Rudy McClellan was the first runner to cross the finish line in the boys division with a time of 17 minutes, 7.65 seconds. Farmington sophomore Adam Griffith followed in second (17:17.17), while Notre Dame seniors Michael Peters and Brock Kasten finished third and fourth, respectively.

Oak Ridge junior Nathan Bolin finished 11th with a time of 18 minutes, 9.77 seconds for the Blue Jays, who placed fourth overall in the team standings. Scott City senior Jesse Perry placed 13th to lead the Rams to fifth place while Saxony Lutheran sophomore Drew Zieba took 16th for the Crusaders, who placed sixth overall.

On the girls side, Notre Dame freshman Alaina Baumgart finished behind Parkway Central's Richelle Bain and Sarah Madsen with a third-place time of 20 minutes, 22.49 seconds to help lead the Bulldogs to first place. Sophomore Katie Hanners followed in fourth place for Notre Dame.

Saxony Lutheran sophomore Katie Richmond finished 26th with a time of 22 minutes, 55.14 seconds to pace the Crusaders, who placed sixth overall in the team standings.

JCAA Conference Meet

The St. Vincent cross country teams each took fifth place in the Jefferson County Activities Association Conference Meet at West City Park in Festus, Missouri.

Junior Levi Krauss posted a 10th-place time of 17 minutes, 56.79 seconds to lead the Indians on the boys side. Senior Kylie Baer finished 24th with a time of 23 minutes, 45.95 seconds for St. Vincent in the girls race.

Host Festus won both divisions while Herculaneum took second and Hillsboro placed third in both categories.
