Bollinger County Presiding Commissioner Travis Elfrink won re-election to a second term Tuesday by a vote of 1,652 to 1,347 votes for Democratic challenger Ronald Davis.

Only the presiding commissioner had a race; other offices were unopposed.

Soon after Davis congratulated Elfrink on his victory, Elfrink said he was grateful to those who supported him.

"It makes me feel I have done a respectable job the first time," he said. "I hope I can do the same the second time."

The final numbers came after a long wait caused by malfunctioning sensors in the vote counter in the county clerk's office. Elfrink said the wait made him a little impatient, but relieved once the results came rolling in.

Monday morning, he said, it will be county business as usual. Elfrink said high on his to-do list will be starting to work on the county's addressing system.
