Blattel - 65 years

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Blattel of Cape Girardeau will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Wednesday with a reception at the Lutheran Home, hosted by their children.

Leon and the former Anna C. Dyer were married Nov. 12, 1949, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City, by the Rev. Little. Their attendants were Ella Friese, Loretta Scherer, Gene Friese and Gene Hasse.

The couple has three children, Michael (Teresa) Blattel of Cape Girardeau, Kenneth (Amy) Blattel of Scott City, and the late Steven Blattel. They have five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
