Robert Diamond Sr.

Robert Charles "Bud" Diamond Sr., 86, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Southeast Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, to Robert V. and Maude Bequette Diamond. He and Violet M. Morlan were married Sept. 9, 1954, in Cape Girardeau.

Bud was a carpenter in the Cape Girardeau area, retiring in 2004.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Eagles Aerie No. 3775 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Violet M. Diamond of Cape Girardeau; daughter Debbie M. Masterson of Cape Girardeau; sons Donald R. Diamond and Roy D. Diamond, both of Cape Girardeau; brother Billy W. Diamond of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; sister Georgia Wren of Cape Girardeau; six Grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sons and six sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home. An Eagles service will be at 7 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at Lorimier Cemetery.
