Willis "Reeder" Withers, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 13, 1933, in Cape Girardeau to Harry Edward and Ora Belle Fenimore Withers.

Reeder was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau. He was a graduate of Central High School. He served in the Army in Korea.

He was a member of First General Baptist Church, the Kiwanis Club, Lions Club, Elk's Lodge No. 639 and Cape Jaycees. He participated in the Jaycee Follies.

He was an avid barbecue connoisseur with the Penny Street Porkers. He also enjoyed gardening and trips to Canada with fishing buddies. He never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Reeder had been an owner of Charter Finance and was head collection officer for Farmers and Merchants Bank and Boatmen's Bank. He retired in 1997.

Survivors include a son, Gregory (Christy) Withers of Jackson; a daughter, Jill (Daniel) Limbaugh of Houston; and four grandchildren, Abby and Katy Withers of Jackson and Ethan and John Limbaugh of Houston.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Withers; sister, Audrey Gunter; and granddaughters, Danielle and Noelle Limbaugh.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First General Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jim Rudolph and the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau. Full military rites will be provided by Missouri Honors Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to First General Baptist Church.
