Robert L. Givens, 71, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov 13, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

He was born March 28, 1943, son of Billie and Annette Bledsoe Givens. He and Lola Braden were married June 12, 1965.

Givens served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and was a member of Abbey Road Christian Church in Cape Girardeau, where he formerly served as the treasurer. He worked as an accountant with Beussink, Hey and Roe PC in Cape Girardeau and had served the area for 46 years. He was a co-founding member of the Missouri Southeastern Model Railroad Club.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lola; son, William (Michelle) Givens of O'Fallon, Missouri; daughter, Christa (Keith) Westrich of Jackson; three grandchildren, Ashlynn, Kanon and Kaden Henry of Jackson; three step-grandchildren, Kelsey Madden of St. Louis and Christian and Breanna Westrich of Jackson; brother, Michael Givens of Marion, Illinois; and an aunt, Frances Givens Williams of East Prairie, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m., with J.T. Thomason officiating.
