FROHNA, Mo. -- Ruth M. Bremer, 91, of Frohna died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Frohna, daughter of Charles G. and Anita C. (Metz) Grebing. She and Willis C. Bremer were married Sept. 1, 1945. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1995...

FROHNA, Mo. -- Ruth M. Bremer, 91, of Frohna died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Frohna, daughter of Charles G. and Anita C. (Metz) Grebing. She and Willis C. Bremer were married Sept. 1, 1945. He preceded her in death Jan. 19, 1995.

Ruth was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and choir. She was also a member of several senior organization clubs in Frohna, Perryville and Altenburg, Missouri; Frohna Friendship Club and was a former 4-H leader.

Survivors include four daughters, Sharon (Ron) Kassel of Riverside, California, Carolyn (Ray) Schmidt of Altenburg, Linda (Jim) Kieft of Indio, California and Joan (Earl) Walter of Jackson; a son, Dale (Juanita) Bremer of Jackson; a brother, Vernon (Helen) Grebing of Frohna; two sisters, Dorothy Lichtenegger of Jackson and Laverne (Vernon) Mirly of Monrovia, California; and a sister-in-law, Dorene Grebing of Frohna.

Also 10 grandchildren, Lisa (Christian) Carreon, Kari Kassel, Stephanie (Tim) Steffens, Tracy (Chad) Lich, Jeffrey (Denae) Walter, Amanda J. Walter, Adam (Amanda S.) Walter, Danielle (Chuck) Brown, Jonathan (Rachael) Bremer and Chris Roberts; 11 great-grandchildren, Sara and Noah Carreon, Connor and Clayton Steffens, Aden and Austin Walter, Jazmine and Garrett Lich, Ava and Jillian Brown and Isaac Bremer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Raymond and Milton Grebing.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna, with the Rev. Rod Benkendorf officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Concordia Choir or United in Christ Lutheran School.
