Wanda Ruth Kain Davidson, 81, a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, to Erhardt and Edna Griffin Kain. She and Raymond Davidson were married Dec. 7, 1951, at Egypt Mills.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was an avid fan of all her grandsons' sporting events.

She was an exceptional hugger, enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was reluctant but an exceptional cook as well. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 63 years, Raymond Davidson; a son, Randy Davidson; a daughter, Kay Davidson, all of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dean Kain of Biehle, Missouri; three sisters, Betty Maevers, Judy Middleton and Brenda McClain, all of Cape Girardeau; a granddaughter, Heather Thorne; and three great-grandsons, Skyler Davidson, Tye and Tayton Thorne, all of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jeffery Ray Davidson; two brothers, Charles and Glenn Kain; and a sister, Virginia Boren.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until service time Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Doug Breite officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, National Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association.
