Preston Wuebker scored a game-high 29 points as the fourth-seeded Advance Hornets debuted their season with an 81-44 quarterfinal win over the fifth-seeded Kelly Hawks in the Oran Invitational Tournament.

The Hornets led by 34 points at halftime and never looked back as the Hawks struggled to come within striking distance.

Brian Whitson netted 17 points and Dalton Wilson tossed in 12 points for Advance (1-0). The Hornets will take on top-seeded defending tournament champion Scott County Central (3-0) at 6:30 p.m. in tonight's first championship semifinal.

Jake McClain bucketed 12 points to pace the Hawks. Kelly (0-1) will face eighth-seeded conference rival Chaffee (0-2) at 5 p.m. tonight in a consolation semifinal.

Eli Tripp scored a game-high 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead the third-seeded Pirates in their season-debut quarterfinal victory over the sixth-seeded Bulldogs in the Woodland Invitational Tournament.

Perryville led by 18 points at halftime and outscored the Bulldogs by seven in the second half on their way to the win. The Pirates had 18 team assists on 30 field goals.

Luke Schlichting chipped in 11 points for Perryville (1-0). The Pirates will face second-seeded Scott City at 8 p.m. in tonight's second semifinal.

Christopher Lombeida scored 15 points and D.J. Hankins added 11 points to pace Zalma (0-1). The Bulldogs will take on seventh-seeded Oak Ridge in tonight's opening consolation semifinal at 5 p.m.

Bobby Wright recorded 14 points for Bell City (1-1), while Peyton Maddox and Nate Finney tallied 12 points apiece. The Cubs will battle the winner of tonight's other consolation semifinal between Kelly and Chaffee for the consolation title on Friday at 5 p.m.

Dexter's Hannah Thurmon scored a game-high 21 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and blocked four shots as the third-seeded Bearcats began their season with a win over the sixth-seeded Bulldogs in the second night of pool play at the 50th Annual Farmington Invitational Tournament.

Dexter posted a big 30-point lead at halftime and edged the Bulldogs by one point in the second half to come away with the victory.

Melanie McKuin netted 20 points and tallied five rebounds and four assists while Krysten Garrison added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Dexter (1-0).

Hayli Chapman bucketed 13 points to pace Notre Dame (0-2). Sam Brennan added 11 points and had three assists, while Cheyenne Sander recorded nine points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs.
