ST. LOUIS -- One of St. Louis' most prominent corporations plans to shift an undetermined number of jobs to New York as part of a restructuring of its sales and marketing operations.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Anheuser-Busch will move some top executives from the Midwest to a U.S. commercial strategy office in New York that will employ up to 250 people.

Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch InBev opened a New York office after its 2008 acquisition of Anheuser-Busch Cos. But the commercial strategy office will be separate from that Manhattan location.

The move will put sales and marketing executives closer to the advertising agencies they work with, as well as to professional sports leagues such as the NFL and Major League Baseball that the brewer has sponsorship deals with.
