Sharon Kay Dreyer, 70, of Jackson, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.

She was born Aug. 16, 1944, in Cape Girardeau to Charles William and Catheryn Lucille Macke Sander.

Sharon and Leonard Gene Dreyer were married Nov. 1, 1964, in Jackson at the First Presbyterian Church.

She graduated from Jackson High School and received her degree in nursing from the Lutheran Hospital of Nursing in St. Louis.

Sharon was a registered nurse for more than 30 years working at Southeast Hospital, Saint Francis Medical Center and various nursing homes in the area.

She was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and helped with the Stephen Ministry. Sharon also was a Girl Scout leader, 4-H leader and a wish granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and a member of the Ladies Elks and the former German Club of Southeast Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard, of Jackson; three daughters, Sherri Prysock of Jackson, Nancee (George) Flowers of Millersville and Catheryn (Jamie) Hartle of Shawneetown; two sisters, Catheryn Sievers and Carol (Doug) Rees, both of Jackson; five grandchildren, Christopher and Charles Hartle, Kaeli Prysock, Caleb (Brea) Burton and Jake Flowers; and four great-grandchildren, Ember, Maddie, Kendal and Zoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Charles Macke Sander; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Sievers.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home-Jackson, formerly Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home.

The funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Lutheran Church or to Saxony Lutheran High School.
