** President Obama

President Barack Obama is a very intelligent man, a very articulate man, and a very good decision-maker, and he has great ideas. He is a good man as well. He, when he took office, as a result of the Republicans' policies, he got the worst recession since the Great Depression dumped in his lap. He couldn't do anything. And if the Republicans would only have worked with him over the years on his ideas, he could have been a great president. He's still a great president.

** Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton is very educated, very articulate. She is a good person. She is older. She is wiser. She is in her prime. It is time for a woman president in this country.

** Roundabout

My husband, who is very smart, thinks a roundabout is a stupid idea for Jackson by the courthouse. He feels that widening the road and putting in a stoplight would be much smarter. My husband would never call Speak Out. He thinks he has better things to do with his time. But after he said it, it made sense to me, because there are big trucks that come through there on 61. And I can only imagine those big trucks navigating a roundabout. Of course, it's hard for them to navigate the corners too. But that was one man's opinion.

** Streetlight

We've got a streetlight down here on Silver Springs Road that burns 24 hours a day. It's been burning all year long. I think something needs to be corrected on it. The number on the post is CG3508. Our electricity bill is high enough now, burning electric all day when we don't need it.

** ISIS battle

Obama doesn't have a plan to take care of ISIS. Why not hire a bunch of computer geeks to hack into ISIS's communications and finances and disrupt their activities?

** Spain's free college

This is in regard to Obama's plan to give free college tuition to everybody in the United States. Let's look at Spain as an example. Spain has free college tuition for four years. Guess what? The kids get out of college and there are no jobs, because the businesses are taxed so heavily to pay for the free education, that expansion is impossible, wage increases impossible. Yep, they have a college degree. No jobs. How smart, or dumb, is that? Also, a friend of ours who runs a business in Spain says his taxes are 80 percent of his income.

** Postsecondary

I saw a comment in the paper about why this country couldn't have free community college educations, because other countries, such as those in Europe, will pay for higher education for its citizens. It's because they weed out the people in high school who they don't think will do well at a college. And then there's no money for them to go and they're not accepted. They go straight into a vocational school. If you really want a system like that in this country, I could live with that. But not everybody belongs in college. There's a bunch of people over there wasting their time, that they're not suited for academic work. They'd be very much suited for something else.

** Jeb Bush

Jeb Bush has jumped into an early lead among likely voters in the New Hampshire primary. Another Bush? Really?

** Thank you

My husband was shoveling our snow off the driveway from the big snow we had in Jackson. A man came by on a snow shovel, a great big one. He started cleaning our driveway off. We didn't even know who he was. For free. Lots of good people live in Jackson. We're proud to live in Jackson also.
