Jeanette H. Juden, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Cape Girardeau to Walter and Juanita Willett Hosea. She attended Cape Girardeau Public Schools and graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School. She and Charles A. Jeanette H. Juden, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away Monday, March 30, 2015, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 9, 1934, in Cape Girardeau to Walter and Juanita Willett Hosea. She attended Cape Girardeau Public Schools and graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School. She and Charles A. "Andy" Juden Jr. were married Dec. 25, 1954, at Christ Episcopal Church in Cape Girardeau. He passed away Aug. 28, 2014.

Jeanette was a homemaker for their three children, Rebecca, Drew and David. She had many special projects that she was involved in. She loved history and provided information for several books that have been published. She worked on the genealogy of her family, the Juden family, as well as the Louis K. Houck family.

She was very active in the Cape Historical Society and worked with the Southeast Missouri State History Department. Most recently, she helped provide information for the book on the Houck family written by Dr. Joel Rhodes. She and Andy also donated all the Houcks' letters, papers and records to the university's history department in 1988.

Jeanette enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. She and Andy went on many hunting trips together that included elk hunting in the high mountains of Wyoming. She also traveled with her sister-in-law and best friend, Jill Juden Piggott.

Loving survivors include sons, Charles Andrew "Drew" (Debbie) Juden III of Sikeston, Missouri, and David Guild Juden of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Andrew, Tyler, Hunter, Ryan, Jared and Rebeccah; a great-grandson, Luke; a great-granddaughter, Hailey; a brother, Walter (Betty) Hosea Jr. of Winter Springs, Florida; and two sisters-in-law, Jill Piggott of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Julia Basham of Thornton, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andy; a daughter, Rebecca; and a sister, Helen Springer.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

A private family service and interment at Cape County Memorial Park will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
