Verna Trickey

Graveside service for Verna Lee Trickey, 90, of Longview, Texas, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The service is under the direction of Welch Funeral Home, 4619 Judson Road, Longview.

Verna passed away Friday, April 3, 2015.

She was born Jan. 1, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, to Walter D. and Anna Hedge Chapman.

Verna was a 10-year resident of Longview and a former resident of Jonesboro and Cape Girardeau. She had been an active member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and a member of Cape Girardeau Garden Club.

She was a warm and loving person and never met a stranger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and three brothers, James Lloyd, John Raymond and Calvin Chapman.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Debbie Trickey of Longview; a brother, Kenneth Chapman; a sister, Mary Lou Ramsey; and three grandchildren, Jon Trickey and wife Amber, Brad Trickey and Nelcy Munez, and Sarah Trickey.
