It took 12 innings, but Leopold away with a 7-5 baseball victory over the host Blue Jays in the opening round of the Oak Ridge Tournament on Thursday.

Garrett Thele picked up the win on the mound. He pitched the final inning and gave up no runs and no runs with one strikeout and one walk to lead Leopold (2-4).

Jordan Baker sustained the loss for Oak Ridge (1-5). He pitched four innings and allowed two earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk.

Ty Householder belted three doubles and drove in two runs to lead the Hawks to the road win.

Householder was also the winning pitcher. He threw five innings and allowed one earned run on three hits, struck out nine and walked three.

Jeremiah Bain added a double and two RBIs for Kelly (3-6).

Bruce Simmons took the loss on the mound for Charleston. He pitched five innings and gave up six runs -- three earned -- on eight hits, struck out six and walked four.

Brianna Mueller recorded one goal and one assist to lead the Crusaders in the overtime victory at home over the Bulldogs.

Tess Daniel and Ali Galemmo each scored one goal for Saxony Lutheran (6-2). Grace Mirly had one assist for the Crusaders.

Torrie Helms had one goal and one assist for Sikeston (4-4). Larysa McClellan also scored for the Bulldogs.

SOFTBALL

Advance 12, Bloomfield 2

Megan Simms had two hits and four RBIs to lead the host Hornets to the five-inning conference romp.

Kendra Sokolowski picked up the win in the circle for Advance (7-1). She went the distance and allowed two earned runs on one hit, recording six strikeouts and walking five.

Tabatha Massey took the loss. She pitched two innings for Bloomfield, giving up seven unearned runs on three hits and five walks.

Leah Landewee and Ashlyn Bucher both doubled for Leopold (7-1).

Mackenzie Altenthal had one strikeout in the circle for Woodland (4-6).
