The city of Cape Girardeau will host a public meeting today regarding the new indoor sports complex.

It's the next project funded through revenue from the 1 percent restaurant tax, which historically has helped build facilities to attract out-of-town visitors and tourists.

A citizen committee earlier this year selected the sports complex as the next project, and another city-appointed selection committee has been reviewing proposals and interviewing applicants to enter into a public-private partnership with one or more entities to develop the facility.

Pertinent address:

1625 N. Kingshighway, Cape Girardeau. Mo.
