The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop E will conduct "Click It or Ticket" enforcement operations over Memorial Day in Cape Girardeau, Pemiscot and Stoddard counties, according to a news release.

The operations, which will run May 18 through 31, are intended to reduce the number and severity of traffic crashes.

In conjunction with Operation CARE (Combined Accident Reduction Effort), being conducted by troopers throughout the state, Troop E also will take part in the 20-Mile Trooper project during peak travel periods May 22 and 25, the release stated. Troopers will be assigned to 20-mile stretches of Interstate 55 and other roads to "vigorously enforc[e] all traffic laws" and help motorists in need of assistance.
