Julia Marie Buehrle, 72, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the home of a sister, with family and friends surrounding her. Julia Marie Buehrle, 72, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the home of a sister, with family and friends surrounding her.

She was born Aug. 16, 1942, in Cape Girardeau to Robert Henry Jr. and Julia Bernice Cutright Buehrle. She was the first daughter and third child of 12.

Julia was a 1960 graduate of Cape Catholic High School (now Notre Dame Regional High School) and a graduate of Sanford-Brown College.

In 1963, Julia moved to St. Charles and became a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church, where she has remained a member 52 years. She taught PSR and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Singles group.

Julia was a member of White House Retreat League, where she attended 24 retreats with her family. She worked at McDonnell Douglas (Boeing) 27 years and Shelter the Children of St. Louis. She was also a beloved caregiver and honorary aunt to the Copeland family 18 years.

She is survived by four sisters, Rose M. (Ron) Lingle of Cape Girardeau, Anne (Gene) Chelland of El Cajon, California, Monica (Sharman Burke) Buehrle of St. Louis and Caroline (James) Weber of St. Charles; seven brothers, Robert H. (Marge) Buehrle III of Chesterfield, Missouri, Michael W. (Colleen) Buehrle Sr. of Easthampton, Massachusetts, Thomas W. (Kathleen) Buehrle Sr. of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Patrick R. (Vivian) Buehrle of Ballwin, Missouri, Gregory C. (Cecelia) Buehrle of New Braunfels, Texas, Anthony G. (Donna) Buehrle of Cape Girardeau and Vincent A. (Maggie) Buehrle of Edwardsville, Illinois. She was "A.J." to 39 nieces and nephews and 43 great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Sharon Kohlar Buehrle.

Julia has donated her body to science through St. Louis University School of Health Sciences Center.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Charles.

A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

A luncheon will follow the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 3 Westbury Drive, St. Charles.

Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Birthright of Brentwood, Missouri; St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Charles; or Bob and Bernice Buehrle Scholarship Fund at Notre Dame Regional High School, Cape Girardeau.
