Lauren Welker netted three goals as the Jackson girls soccer team wrapped up its regular season with a 5-0 road victory over Carbondale (Ill.).

Rachel Crites added one goal and one assist for Jackson (18-2-1). Grace Pehle scored one goal, and Hailey Woodard had one assist for the Indians.

Goalkeepers Sarah Blanton and Samantha Schnicker combined for the shutout.

Jackson is seeded first and opens Class 4 District 1 tournament play at 6 p.m. Monday against fourth-seeded Fox at Northwest High School in Cedar Hill, Missouri.

Poplar Bluff 1, Notre Dame 0 (PKs)

Poplar Bluff's Maria Zavala scored the game-winning goal as the Mules notched their 10th win of the season in penalty kicks during their regular-season finale at home.

Poplar Bluff (10-12) is seeded first in the Class 3 District 1 Tournament at Central High School and begins at 5 p.m. Monday against fourth-seeded Farmington.

Notre Dame finished its regular season at 7-15. The Bulldogs are seeded third and host the Class 2 District 1 Tournament, which starts on Saturday. The Bulldogs will face second-seeded Perryville (14-6) at 3 p.m.

Sikeston 1, Perryville 0

Sikeston's Grace Hamra scored the game-winning goal on an assist from Kyra Rainwater to get the win for the Bulldogs (12-10) at home.

Perryville (14-6) hosts conference foe DeSoto (6-18) today in its last game of the regular season.

Saxony Lutheran 1, St. Vincent 0

Tess Daniel netted the game-winning goal on an assist from Brianna Mueller as the Crusaders wrapped up their regular season with a win over potential district contender St. Vincent.

Saxony Lutheran (19-2) is seeded first in the Class 1 District 1 Tournament while the host Indians (12-10) are seeded second. Both teams open district play on Monday.

BASEBALL

Notre Dame 5, East Carter County 3

Logan Heisserer belted a double and went 3 for 4 to lead the state-ranked Bulldogs in the win at home over the state-ranked Redbirds.

Graham Ruopp got the win on the mound for Notre Dame (21-5). He pitched five innings and gave up two runs on three hits. He had seven strikeouts and three walks.

Logan Saffle sustained the loss. He pitched six innings and allowed five runs on 10 hits. He had five strikeouts and walked one.

Trever Lewis had two of the three hits to pace East Carter County (17-7).

Notre Dame will honors its seniors in today's final game of the regular season against North County (7-16).

Blakeney Kearbey blasted a triple and drove in two runs for the Bears, while Grant Miller went 3 for 3 at the plate and batted in four runs.

Bobby Wright sustained the loss. He pitched 1 2/3 innings and gave up seven runs (six earned) on four hits. He had one strikeout and walked five.

Nate Finney went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs for Bell City (19-3).

Kameron Misner got the win on the mound in relief for Brandon Stuckenschneider. Misner threw four innings and allowed three earned runs on four hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Misner, Stuckenschneider and Dalton Cooper batted in two runs apiece to lead Poplar Bluff (17-5).

The undefeated top-seeded Bearcats improved to 10-0 with a sweep of the second-seeded Bulldogs to clinch the championship of the Class 1 District 1 Tournament.

Notre Dame ended its season with a record of 8-4 with three of those four losses having come from Dexter.
