The Southeast Metropolitan Planning Organization is hosting a public hearing Wednesday on its 2016 unified planning work program.
SEMPO covers the Cape Girardeau/Jackson urbanized area that includes portions of Cape Girardeau and Scott counties, as well as portions of East Cape Girardeau and Alexander County in Illinois. It's federally mandated and funded.
The unified planning work program outlines the program of transportation planning activities to be conducted during the fiscal year and identifies sources and funding allocation for those activities. Comments on the program will be accepted at the meeting, which will be at 2 p.m. at the Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau.
The unified planning work program is available online at southeastmpo.org or may be printed upon request at Cape Girardeau City Hall, 401 Independence St.; Jackson City Hall, 101 Court St.; or Cape Girardeau County Administration Building, 1 Barton Square in Jackson.
