The Notre Dame boys volleyball team reached the Class 3 semifinals Monday night with a 25-21, 25-13 win over O'Fallon Christian at Francis Howell High School in St. Charles, Missouri.

Rhett Simmons had seven kills and four aces to lead the way for the Bulldogs, who improved to 24-8 and will face defending state champion Parkway Central at 7 p.m. Thursday at Westminster Christian.

John Fennewald and Tyler Allen each added five kills, with Fennewald also notching two aces. Evan Landewee dished out 18 assists.

"This was huge," Notre Dame coach Mark Moore said. "Being we're in only our second year of existance for boys volleyball here at Notre Dame and to win in the quarterfinals, it's pretty great. It shows all the hard work the boys have put in."

Notre Dame finished second in its district Friday to advance to the elite eight, where it is the fourth seed.
