The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

  • A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of resisting arrest and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
  • Timmy L. Burton, 54, of Mounds, Illinois, was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.
  • Two suspects were in custody pending formal charges of stealing two iPads at Wal-Mart, 3439 William St.
  • Zachary Tyler Smith, 17, 1708 Georgia St., and Jonathan Brandon Ayuso, 20, 631 Napa Circle, were arrested on suspicion of stealing.
  • Christen Elizabeth Witte, 31, 45 S. West End Blvd., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for probation violation for dangerous drugs and a Union County, Illinois, warrant for failure to appear.
  • Suspects were in custody pending formal charges of tampering with a motor vehicle, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and possession of imitation controlled drug.

Summons

  • Deborah A. Evans, no age given, of Cape Girardeau was issued a summons for improper lane change.

Assaults

  • Assault was reported.

  • A 25-year-old man was placed in protective custody.
  • A 29-year-old man was placed in protective custody.
  • Peace disturbance and aggravated stalking were reported.
