Gene Magnus recently was promoted to director of information systems at Saint Francis Medical Center. Magnus will be responsible for application software systems at the hospital, including a new electronic medical records system, according to a news release. Magnus began working for Saint Francis in 2010 as a senior system analyst and recently served as a project leader in an implementation of electronic medical records for physicians. Magnus previously owned a local computer and telecommunications business. Magnus has a business management degree from Southeast Missouri State University and a masters of business administration degree from William Woods University and is a certified project management professional, according to the release. He also serves on the board of directors for several not-for-profit organizations.

Heather Dameron

Heather Dameron recently was promoted to vice president and chief credit officer at First Missouri State Bank. Dameron, who has worked at the bank since 2003, was selected by the bank's board of directors for the position. Her new role, according to a news release, will include ensuring compliance with bank and regulatory policies and underwriting and approving secondary market mortgage loans. Dameron is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and attended the Barret School of Banking's Commercial Lending Academy in Memphis, Tennessee. She completed the Independent Community Banking Association's Loan Review Policies and Procedures Course, according to the release, and soon will attend the Graduate School of Banking in Boulder, Colorado, where she is the recipient of the Future Leaders Scholarship award from the Missouri Bankers Association.

William "Bill" Beggs, owner of Pioneer Manufactured Homes in Cape Girardeau and a local farmer, was elected to the board of directors for the Missouri Manufactured Housing Association at a recent annual convention of the association in St. Louis, according to a news release from Pioneer.

Allen Morris of Jackson recently joined the real- estate sales team at Century 21 Ashland Realty in Cape Girardeau. Morris holds an industrial technology degree and has experience in housing design and inspection, according to a news release from Century 21. Morris, who has interest in the outdoors, will focus on land management, according to the release, and bring expertise to marketing and sales of hunting ground.

Ron Lungwitz of Lungwitz Financial Services in Cape Girardeau recently received a President's Award from Senior Market Sales and received a trip to Gran Melia Golf Resort in Puerto Rico at the 2015 President's Club Conference. Senior Market Sales is an insurance marketing organization, and its President's Club is a group for producers that recognizes top performance in the field.

Yoga East Healing Arts Studio in Cape Girardeau recently graduated an inaugural cohort of certified yoga teachers, according to a news release. Completing 200-hour yoga teacher training were Sara Augustine, Bryanna Wareing, Tara Lang, Casey House, Sara McNeil, Kara Cracraft, Rose Fox, Pierce Yates and Kelly Hughes. The graduates were led through the program by Judy Grier, Lauren Jones and Robin Drury.

Original organizers of the SEMO Cattlemen's Association recently were recognized by the Missouri House and Senate. Ben Eggers, now of Mexico, Missouri; Mark Boardman, owner of Flickerwood Arena; and Mike Kasten of Millersville, officers of the association upon its organization in 1978, were honored by state Sen. Wayne Wallingford and state Rep. Donna Lichtenegger in Jefferson City. A House and Senate resolution also acknowledged May as Beef Month, according to a news release from the association. The resolution was presented to members Eggers, Boardman, Larry Miller and Butch Meier.
