Southeast Missouri State will send seven track and field athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships this weekend at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas.

Blake Smith, Blake Carter, Reggie Miller, Chris Martin, Shon Kyle, Jessica Brown and Sarah Hall all qualified for the NCAA West Region prelims.

Kyle will kick the competition off for the Redhawks with the discus at noon today. He'll also compete in the shot put on Friday.

Smith and Carter will participate in the long jump today. Smith's 100-meter dash will also take place today along with Hall's hammer throw competition and Brown's long jump.

Miller and Martin will participate in the triple jump on Saturday.

Twelve individual competitors from each event at the preliminary championship this weekend qualify for the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field championships in Eugene, Oregon, June 10-13.
