Charges were filed against three of four individuals taken into custody Friday morning after the completion of a search warrant of a Cape Girardeau home.

David P. Rains, 34, was charged with one count of burglary and stealing, one count of knowingly burning and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $20,000 cash or surety, which was posted Saturday. According to the sheriff's department, he was released.

John L. Groves, 31, was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance. On Saturday evening, he remained in custody at the Cape Girardeau County Justice Center. Bond was set at $12,500 cash or surety.

Thomas G. Jordan, 34, was charged with one count of felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $15,000 cash or surety, and posted bond Saturday evening.

The fourth person was arrested and released with no charges filed.

Cape Girardeau County sheriff's deputies, with assistance of the Cape Girardeau Police Special Response Team, served a search warrant Friday morning at 1652 N. Main St. in connection with a burglary that occurred at a Cape Girardeau County home earlier last week.

Capt. David James of sheriff's department said Friday jewelry and a car was stolen from the home, and the vehicle was found on fire later that day.
