ADVANCE, Mo. -- Helen B. Rainey, 88, of Advance passed away Friday, May 29, 2015, at Advance Assisted Living.
She was born Nov. 11, 1926, at Advance, the daughter of Ross and Allie McKinney Croy.
Helen had been a homemaker and did a lot of volunteer work. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Cape Girardeau South. She had been a member since 1955.
Helen and Willard "Bill" Rainey were united in marriage Aug. 24, 1945, at Piggott, Arkansas, and he preceded her in death April 1, 2013.
Survivors include a son, Tim Rainey of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Nelda Simpson of Advance; a brother, Bertis Croy of St. Charles, Missouri; four sisters, Emma Cook of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Annalee Cates of Advance, Shelby Matthews of Pevely, Missouri, and Bonnie Johns of Advance; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Tom Rainey; and four brothers, Arvil, Charles, Ross Jr. and Bonnie Croy.
A visitation will from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses of Cape Girardeau South.
A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. today at the hall, with Tom Kelsey officiating. Burial was held earlier at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
