Italian manufacturer to open in Ste. Genevieve after trade mission

ST. LOUIS -- An Italian manufacturer of construction products is opening in Missouri after an overseas trip by Gov. Jay Nixon and other state officials to recruit foreign investment.

Nixon announced Friday that Piva Group picked Ste. Genevieve to open its first manufacturing operation in the U.S.

The move comes after Nixon in March led a European trade mission to Italy, Germany and Spain to persuade businesses to invest in Missouri.

Piva Group produces vinyl windows, doors, panels and other products.

The company could get nearly $1 million of state incentives if it meets job-creation and investment criteria.
