A man accused of shooting his stepdaughter appeared in Cape Girardeau County court Monday before Judge Benjamin Lewis.

Ricky Schweain, 54, had his case continued after his attorney, Jennifer Slone, cited "a significant amount of discovery" in the case.

Schweain has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in the March shooting death of his stepdaughter, Melissa Luttrell.
