Myrtle Hood

Myrtle E. Hood, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 21, 2015, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Thursday, July 29, 1920, in Stoddard County, Missouri, to Simeon V. and Hattie Dixon Lewis.

She and Raymond Clois Hood were married Saturday, March 16, 1940, at Bloomfield, Missouri.

Myrtle was a member of First General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Clois Hood of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Brenda K. (Gregory) Unsbee of Cape Girardeau; brothers, Wayne (Alma) Lewis of Bloomfield and Tom (Helen) Lewis of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Leona (Charles) Tucker of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Stacey (Ross) Marshall, Craig Mills, Shannon Mills, Wendy (Jason) McKee and Amanda (Rudy) Cobb; and great-grandchildren, Clayton and Blake Marshall, Matthew and Allee McKee and Kayona and Aaliyah Cobb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shelby Mills; brother, Cooper Lewis; and sisters, Dorothy Hoppe and Imogene Templeton.

Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Ramdial officiating.

Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
