BENTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston, Missouri, man faces charges of sex-related crimes involving a child.

Terry Allen Lewis, 35, is charged with two counts of statutory sodomy, child molestation in the first degree and two counts of sexual misconduct.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said investigators began working with the Scott County Children's Division after receiving information Lewis had sex-related contact with a female relative. The contact reportedly occurred when the victim was 8 or 9 years old; the victim is 16 now.

The victim, who lives in another state, reported Lewis had inappropriate, sexual contact with her on multiple occasions when she was living in Sikeston. The victim reported the contact usually occurred after her mother and Lewis had been out drinking. When they would come home, the mother would go to sleep, and Lewis would go to the victim's room, the victim said.

Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety.
