APPLE CREEK, Mo. -- Edmund D. Leible, 88, of Apple Creek died Friday, June 26, 2015, at his home.

Edmund was born Nov. 21, 1926, at Apple Creek to Otto and Mary J. Schnurbusch Leible. He married Genevieve Erzfeld on April 25, 1953, in Apple Creek. She survives.

Edmund worked at Gilster-MaryLee filling orders, and also in construction as a carpenter. He was an Army veteran, serving during Korea. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek and the Parish Men's Organization. He also was a member of American Legion Post No. 133. He loved hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife, Genevieve Leible of Apple Creek; one son, Daniel (Peggy) Leible of Frohna, Missouri; one daughter, Rhonda (Roger) Buerck of Perryville, Missouri; one sister, Anna Winkler of Perryville; four grandchildren, Jamie (Jina) Buerck, Zach Buerck, Christopher (Kelly) Leible and Heather (Travis) Mueller; and six great-grandchildren, Sidney and Colton Buerck, Bennett and Oliver Mueller and Emma and Braxton Leible.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Leslie, Erby, Wilfred, Edward and Chalmer; a sister, Lela Abernathy; and a son, Daren Leible.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home, with an American Legion service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Apple Creek, with the Rev. Jim French officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post No. 133.

The Family requests memorials be made to St. Joseph Parish Steeple Fund.
