Abortion tactics

It's sad enough that we've allowed abortion to go on since 1973, and now to find out they're selling organs. They're taking these unborn babies' lives, snuffing them out, and then selling their organs and making a profit from them. How disgusting. How despicable.

In Donald's defense ...

I double-dog dare David Limbaugh or any other of the numerous extreme right wingers whose "thoughts" appear on this page to defend or excuse Donald Trump's comment to the effect that Sen. John McCain was no Vietnam War hero because he was captured while stating a strong preference for members of the military who weren't.

Test grading

In regard to the article on opting out of federally mandated testing as a result of Bush era No Child Left Behind, I hate to burst your bubble, but the federally mandated testing that Jason Smith voted against was the Common Core testing requirement associated with the Obama Race to The Top (Common Core) initiative that long ago replaced the No Child Left Behind. The National Education Association is also now strongly opposed to the Common Core assessment portion of the program. Could it be the reason teachers are so adamantly against the assessments is that teacher evaluations are also part of the process? Don't blame it on Bush, as usual. And teachers originally were in strong support of the Common Core program since it was implemented by the Obama administration.

Walker, talker

The guy from Wisconsin who claims everyone should check the facts is ignoring his own advice. Walker did not, as this guy claims, get rid of all unions in Wisconsin, nor did he do most of the rest of the things the caller lists. As for his ability to predict what Bush or anyone else will do, well, considering how this caller can't get the facts about the past straight, I don't know how he can predict the future. What a joke!

Sowell right

Everyone should read Thomas Sowell's editorial in the July 22, newspaper titled "A historic catastrophe." Then, contact your congressmen and tell them to stop sitting on their thumbs, doing nothing, and stop this horrible nuclear deal with Iran. Forward this article to them. It appears that Mr. Sowell knows more about what's going on than Congress does. It's way past time for our congressmen and women to do their jobs and do what they were elected to do.
