Hettie Delyle Brown Welker, 94, of Estero, Florida, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, in Estero.

She was born in 1921 in Hollywood, Dunklin County, Missouri, daughter of William Clarence and Maude Branum Brown.

Called Delyle, she was a dearly loved daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. She spent her working life as a hairdresser in Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Hettie remained a stalwart member of the Church of Christ. She had a clear soprano voice and loved to sing.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Welker Bernalewski of Fort Myers, Florida; a son, John Phillip Welker of Arnold, Missouri; three granddaughters, Nicole Driscoll, Emily Morash and Stacy Tucker; and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Driscoll, Luke Burgo, Sydney Driscoll and Colin Morash.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 31 years, William Lynn Welker; a son, William Lynn Welker; three sisters, Mildred McAndrew, Wilda Hart and Helen Mebane; and a brother, Paul Brown.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Brian Mitchell officiating. Burial will be private at Fairmount Cemetery.
