Don Vance

ORAN, Mo. -- Don Vance, 80, of Oran passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at his home.

He was born July 23, 1935, in Allenville to Elbert Howard and Florence "Flossie" Cramer Vance.

Don served four years in the United States Air Force.

He was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church, St. Joseph Sodality, Knights of Columbus Council 4311, all in Oran; American Legion Post 369 in Benton, Missouri; and Elks Lodge 2319 in Sikeston, Missouri. He was a retired construction worker.

Survivors include three daughters, Jeannine (Scott) Stause, Debra (Brian) Frala of Oran and Kimberly (Bill) Crump of Scott City; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Parish rosary will be at 6 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus prayers.

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angel Church, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors presented by Missouri Honor Guard.
