Johnson wins Ladies Club Championship

Dee Johnson finished with a two-day total of 143 to win the Ladies Club Championship at Kimbeland Country Club on Sunday.

Johnson had rounds of 73 and 70 to win the title by seven strokes.

Vicki Dye, who shot a 78 in the first round and was in second place five shots off the lead, shot a 72 in the second round to finish runner-up at 150. Sissy Donahue (86-76) finished third at 160.

Shelly Bohn (88-80--168) and Marlys Berry (86-82 --168) tied for first in A flight, Susan Vickery (87-89--176) claimed B flight, and Sally LeGrand (91-94--185) finished atop C flight.

Soutar claims Senior title at Dalhousie

Ian Soutar shot an even-par 72 Sunday to win the Senior Championship at Dalhousie Golf Club, finishing with a two-day total of 148.

Tommy Thomas (80-79) placed second with a 159 total.

Cord Dombrowski won the Mid-Senior title with rounds of 69 and 83 for a 162 total, while John Abercrombie (83-81) finished two strokes back.

Rob Erlbacher won the Grand Senior title with a 169 total after rounds of 84 and 85. Jim Griffin (85-86) finished second at 171.

Sullivan records first ace at Kimbeland

Rick Sullivan of Cape Girardeau recently sank a hole-in-one at Kimbeland Country Club.

Sullivan used a 4-iron to ace No. 4, a par 3 playing 168 yards. Witnesses were Steve Miller, Blake Esicar and Mike Robins.

It was the first hole-in-one for the 67-year-old Sullivan, who has been playing golf for 40 years.

Pourney fires ace at Kimbeland

Leroy Pourney of Jackson recorded his fourth career hole-in-one at Kimbeland Country Club.

Pourney used a 9-iron to ace No. 4, a par 3 playing 104 yards. Witnesses were Bob Brosey and Wanda Brosey.

Bozzay wins Dalhousie Point Series event

Terry Bozzay recently carded a 67 to win the Point Series low net event at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Bob Gile, Jim Rust and Jeff DeWitt tied for second at 68. Bill Bishop, Cord Dombrowski, Rob Erlbacher and Jim Clay tied for fifth at 69.

SEMO Umpires Association meeting

The SEMO Umpires Association will hold a fall meeting for members and any registered Missouri State High School Activities Association baseball and softball umpires at 7 p.m. Aug. 31 at River Eagle Distributing in Cape Girardeau.
