Edna Irene Hendrix, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born Thursday, Feb. 1, 1934, in Cardwell, Missouri, to the late Bevley Burton and Mary Elizabeth Fowler Linhart. She and Ross Lee Hendrix were married Saturday, Sept. 29, 1951, at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He died May 12, 1996...

Edna Irene Hendrix, 81, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Thursday, Feb. 1, 1934, in Cardwell, Missouri, to the late Bevley Burton and Mary Elizabeth Fowler Linhart. She and Ross Lee Hendrix were married Saturday, Sept. 29, 1951, at Pocahontas, Arkansas. He died May 12, 1996.

Edna made crafts and quilts, worked as a nurses' aide for Charleston Nursing Home, and later she sat for the elderly. She retired in 1993.

She was a member of Four Squares Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include four sons, Michael Hendrix of Jackson, Randy (Christy) Hendrix of Crestview, Florida, David (Bonnie) Hendrix of Pocahontas, Missouri, and Johnny (Tonia) Hendrix of Pocahontas, Missouri; two daughters, Pam Wilson of Cape Girardeau and Linda (Jeff) Secevrin of Edwardsville, Illinois; six brothers, the Rev. Charles Linhart of Indianapolis, Ernie Linhart of East Prairie, Missouri, Norvell Linhart of East Prairie, Alvin Linhart of Collinsville, Illinois, the Rev. Edward Linhart of Granite City, Illinois, and Danny Linhart of Granite City; two sisters, Kathy Hannah and Cheryl Carter, both of Cape Girardeau; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Terry Hendrix; a brother, Jerry Linhart; three sisters, Peggy Johnson, Gerldean Parker and Anita Linhart; and a daughter, Karen Hendrix.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be at noon today at the funeral home, with the Rev. Edward Linhart and Rev. Charles Linhart officiating. Burial will be at Dogwood Cemetery at a later date.
