Jackson graduate Dante Vandeven received another accolade following his Southeast Missouri State football debut.

The true freshman quarterback, who earned Ohio Valley Conference newcomer of the week honors following his first collegiate game against Indiana State on Saturday, was named the Football Championship Subdivision National Freshman of the Week by STATS on Monday.

Vandeven led the Redhawks on three fourth-quarter touchdown drives after replacing starting QB Tay Bender in the third quarter against the nationally-ranked Sycamores. Southeast's rally came up short when Vandeven's two-point conversion pass with no time remaining to senior receiver Paul McRoberts fell incomplete and ISU won 29-28.

Vandeven is listed as the No. 1 quarterback on Southeast's depth chart this week for the Redhawks' home game against Division II Shorter University. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Houck Stadium.

Other changes to the depth chart are an absence of starting running back DeMichael Jackson, who injured his knee Saturday. Junior Tremane McCullough, who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries, is listed as the No. 1 running back with sophomores Brendan Stewart or Will Young listed as the backup.

Receiver Peter Lloyd is listed as the top kick returner in place of Jackson.

Junior linebacker Terrance Hill, who started against Missouri and played in all three games and was listed as the starter last week, also is not listed on the depth chart. Instead Lloyd Laufili Time, who started the last two games and had six tackles and 1 1/2 sacks against Indiana State, is listed as the starter with sophomore Brad Ivey at No. 2.
