Herbert Weinhold

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Herbert E. Weinhold, 90, of Perryville died Sept. 28, 2015, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 26, 1925, in Menfro, Missouri, son of Charles O. and Marie (Brandes) Weinhold. He and Ellen Fluegge were married Aug. 9, 1953. She survives in Perryville.

Herbert was a grain and cattle farmer. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown, Missouri, and a United States Army veteran of World War II.

Other survivors include one daughter, Carole (Jim) Brown, and one son, Scott (Gena) Weinhold, both of Perryville; one brother, Edmund Weinhold of St. Peters, Missouri; and four grandchildren, Michael and Jordan Brown and Ashley and David Weinhold.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial in church cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to Saxony Lutheran High School or Zion Lutheran Church in Crosstown.
