Ruth Sullivan

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Sullivan, 98, of Chaffee passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born July 30, 1917, in Grandin, Missouri, to the late Spencer and Sally Crowe Bacon. She married Sam P. Sullivan on April 1, 1936, and he preceded her in death Nov. 11, 1966.

Ruth and her husband owned and operated Sullivan Brothers Cleaners in Chaffee. She was a member of First Christian Church in Chaffee.

Survivors include her two sons, Bob (Janet) Sullivan of Chaffee and Bill (Peggy) Sullivan of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Ruth Ann Glency of Chaffee; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth also was preceded in death by five brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; and one great-great-grandson.

Friends may call from noon until the time of service Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Steve Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church of Chaffee.
