CAMPBELL, Mo. -- The passenger of a motorcyclist died after a collision with a truck last week near Campbell.

At 6:51 p.m. Wednesday, a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Jack D. Anderson rear-ended a 2001 Yamaha Raptor motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Joshua Paxton. Courtney Hausmann, 16, was a passenger on the back of the motorcycle.

Paxton was driving north on Route B when Anderson struck him in the rear. It was reported the motorcycle had no rear lights or reflectors.

Paxton and Hausmann were thrown from the motorcycle. Both were airlifted from the scene. Hausmann was flown to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was later pronounced dead. Paxton was flown to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with severe injuries.
