SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Mary Iva Jean Grindstaff, 82, of Sedgewickville passed away Monday, Nov. 2, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 14, 1933, in Sedgewickville, the daughter of Erby and Esther Probst Kiefer. She and Loyd Edward Grindstaff were united in marriage April 16, 1945, and he passed away April 11, 1995.

Jean was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty Congregational Methodist Church in Marquand, Missouri, since 1985.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanine (Eric) Meyer of Troy, Missouri, and Dolores Grindstaff of Patton, Missouri; a sister, Margie (Harold) Fulton of Sedgewickville; a sister-in-law, Mildred Kiefer of Sedgewickville; four grandchildren, Stacy (Chad) Dalton of Patton, Jeff (Michelle) Grindstaff of Sedgewickville, Angela (Mahlon) Yoder of Troy and John (Shanna) Meyer of Wentzville, Missouri; and nine great-grandchildren, Emily Dalton, Trenton Grindstaff, Jacob Dalton, Ransom Grindstaff, Blake Grindstaff, and Ellianna, Elizabeth, Nathaniel and Noah Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loyd; son, the Rev. Kirby Grindstaff; and brothers, Delmer "Bud" Kiefer and LeRoy Kiefer.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton and from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at Liberty Congregational Methodist Church.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Officiating will be the Revs. Jamie Hovis and Darrell Shrum. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery in Patton.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Patton Cemetery.
