MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Elvie Lee Robert, 87, of Marble Hill, formerly of Kelso, Missouri, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at her home.

She was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Neelys Landing to Robert E. Lee and Zola Mae Penrod Robison. She married Norval Robert on Oct. 7, 1950. He preceded her in death Sept. 21, 2001.

She was a registered nurse at Scott City schools from 1966 to 1970. She then taught at Southeast Missouri State University from 1970 to 1975 and later worked at Saint Francis Medical Center from 1975 to 1993.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso.

She is survived by a son, Tom (Ginny) Robert of Marble Hill; a daughter, Marian Ellis of Kelso; three grandchildren, Nick Ellis, Hannah (Mike) Clark and Thomas E. Robert; a brother, Wilbur C. Robison of Boise, Idaho; and three sisters, Della Behymer of Cape Girardeau, Betty Bethea of Dillon, South Carolina, and Nancy Johnston of Jackson.

She also was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a nephew.

Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, with the Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Kelso.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
