KELSO, Mo. -- Laverne Cecilia Keusenkothen, 73, of Kelso died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 18, 1941, in New Hamburg, Missouri, to Fidelis Martin and Catherine Josephine Heuring Klipfel. She married Eugene Louis Keusenkothen on May 8, 1965.
She was a bank teller at First Midwest Bank and also was a secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter, Missouri. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, St. Ann's Ladies Sodality and St. Francis of DeSales.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene; four children, the Rev. Stephen Keusenkothen of Kingston, Jamaica, Patricia (John) Straus of Springfield, Missouri, Mark (Susan) Keusenkothen of Washington, North Carolina, and Gail (Jon) Herbert of Springfield, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Sean, Isaac, Gabriel, Liana, Lauren, Logan and Bella Straus, Jonah and Luka Keusenkothen, and Henry and Vincent Herbert; and a sister, Doris Walter of Oran, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, with the Rev. Keusenkothen and the Rev. Joseph Weidenbenner as con-celebrants. Burial will be in St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery in Kelso.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Benedict, Archdiocese of Kingston, 11 Reef Ave., Kingston, Kingston 1 Jamaica.
