THEBES, Ill. -- Frances Irene Nolan, 78, of Thebes died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 7, 1937, in French Lick, Indiana, to Ernest H. and Clarice Milburn Dotson. She married Thomas Nolan in 1957 at Cane Creek Christian Church...

THEBES, Ill. -- Frances Irene Nolan, 78, of Thebes died Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at The Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 7, 1937, in French Lick, Indiana, to Ernest H. and Clarice Milburn Dotson. She married Thomas Nolan in 1957 at Cane Creek Christian Church.

Frances was a secretary at the Cairo (Illinois) School District for many years. She was a member of the Cairo Christian Church and attended the First United Methodist Church in Olive Branch, Illinois. She was a strong Christian woman. She enjoyed sewing, making clothes for both people and dolls. She also enjoyed crocheting. She gave most of her creations away as she greatly enjoyed giving to others.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas, of Thebes; two sons, Thomas Nolan Jr. of Oak Dale, Louisiana, and John W. (Paula A.) Nolan of Salem, Missouri; a grandson, John Adam Nolan, and a granddaughter, Kelsey Michelle Nolan, both of Salem; a sister, Mary Dotson of French Lick; two brothers, Paul M. Dotson of St. Charles, Missouri, and Edward (Peggy) Dotson of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Suzanne Dotson of Jasper, Indiana, and Jackie Dotson of Paoli, Indiana; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Barbara Shipman; and two brothers, Ernest Howard Dotson and Lloyd Dotson.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Illinois.

The funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cane Creek Cemetery near French Lick.
