The Cape Girardeau Police Department released the following items. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

  • Christopher K. Criddle, 21, 414 S. Benton St., was arrested on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to appear for assault.
  • Jeffrey I. Dancy Jr., 32, of Sparta, Illinois, was arrested at 500 S. Kingshighway on Kirkwood, Missouri, warrants for property damage and possession of a controlled substance.
  • A suspect was in custody pending formal charges of domestic assault, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful use of a weapon.
  • Jonathan Ray Scarber, 29, 621 Themis St. Apt. C, was arrested on suspicion of drinking in public at 1325 Broadway.

Summons

  • Frank L. Cummins, McClure, Illinois, was issued summonses for striking a legally stopped vehicle, not having a valid driver's license and not having insurance.

Thefts

  • A 2008 red Chevrolet HHR was reported stolen at 414 Washington Ave. and later recovered.
  • A 1996 Black Nissan Altima was reported stolen at 412 Washington Ave. and later recovered.

  • A truck window was reported broken at Johnstone Supply on Rust Avenue.
  • A cell phone was reported damaged at 733 N. Sunset Blvd.

Miscellaneous

  • Unlawful use of a weapon was reported.
  • A passport was reported lost.
  • A 24-year-old man was placed in protective custody.
  • A peace disturbance was reported.
  • Forgery was reported.
