LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Funeral services for Roger Gaylon Yarbro Sr., 74, of Lawrence will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.

He passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at University of Kansas Medical Center.

Roger was born Dec. 6, 1940, in Chaffee, Missouri, the son of Louis "Doc" and Vera Lois (May) Yarbro.

He attended the Heritage Baptist Church.

He married Nora "Louise" Montgomery. They later divorced. She preceded him in death Dec. 26, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Tamara "Tammy" Lyles of Eudora, Kansas, and Cynthia "Cyndi" Roubison of Lawrence; two sons, Roger Yarbro Jr. and wife Tina of Frisco, Texas, and Clyde "David" Yarbro of Lawrence; two sisters, Lou Hopper of Wappapello, Missouri, and Kay and husband Frankie Widdows of Paducah, Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Yarbro and Donna Yarbro, both of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Carolyn Sue Yarbro and Francis Seairl Fisher; brothers, Jimmy Louis Yarbro and Larry Gene Yarbro; and grandson, Shawn Michael Lyles.

The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Roger G. Yarbro Sr. Educational Fund and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
